Rooted in Care,
Shaped by Listening

Banyan Lodge began with a simple belief — that later life deserves the same attention and warmth as any other season.

Who We Are

About Banyan Lodge

Banyan Lodge was founded in Hong Kong with the intention of creating a residential home for seniors that felt genuinely like a home — not a facility, not a ward, but a place where the rhythms of daily life could continue with comfort and quiet dignity.

We are situated at 5 Tai Tam Road in Stanley, chosen for its proximity to nature trails and its calm neighbourhood character. The sea is not far. The air, on most mornings, carries something pleasant. These things matter when a place is someone's daily world.

Our work is residential in nature. We do not provide medical or clinical services. What we offer instead is attentive companionship, well-prepared meals, comfortable private rooms, and a small programme of activities — including our much-loved Brush & Ink Workshop — that bring meaning to ordinary days.

We work closely with each resident and their family from the first conversation, taking the time to understand what matters to each person before they arrive. That understanding shapes everything that follows.

Our Mission

To offer seniors in Hong Kong a residential home that honours their individuality, supports their daily comfort, and creates space for the small pleasures that make life worthwhile.

Our Vision

A Hong Kong where seniors can age in surroundings that are calm, beautiful, and built around them — where good care and good living are not in competition.

Our Values

Warmth, patience, honesty, and restraint. We try not to over-promise. We prefer to show what Banyan Lodge is like through small, consistent actions.

How We Work

Our Standards & Approach

Some things we hold to consistently, regardless of how busy any particular day becomes.

Nutritional Attention

Meals are planned with reference to each resident's preferences and any dietary considerations. Food is cooked daily, not prepared in bulk and stored.

Consistent Staffing

Residents see the same care companions regularly, not a rotating roster of strangers. Familiarity, we find, builds the quiet confidence that makes daily life easier.

Privacy & Discretion

Personal information is held with care and shared only where necessary. We take the trust families place in us seriously.

Open Family Communication

Families are kept informed and welcomed into conversation. We believe good care is a partnership between the lodge, the resident, and those who love them.

Clean, Maintained Spaces

Housekeeping is carried out daily. Common areas and private rooms are maintained to a standard that reflects respect for the people who live here.

Hong Kong Residential Standards

Banyan Lodge operates in compliance with Hong Kong regulations governing residential homes. We review our practices regularly and take feedback from residents and families seriously.

Residential Life in Stanley, Hong Kong

Stanley is one of those parts of Hong Kong that people often describe as a little apart from the city — not remote, but settled in its own pace. For a residential home, this neighbourhood character has practical value. The nearby nature trails give residents who enjoy outdoor movement a gentle option. The local village, waterfront, and market are accessible and familiar for those who have lived in Hong Kong for many years.

Banyan Lodge occupies a position at 5 Tai Tam Road that benefits from this neighbourhood while remaining a calm and self-contained environment for daily life. Rooms are arranged to allow natural light and ventilation without the noise of busier streets. The communal spaces — where meals are shared and activities take place — are kept comfortable and simply furnished.

We draw residents from across Hong Kong, as well as from families whose parents or grandparents are returning from overseas. The English-language environment at Banyan Lodge suits seniors who are more comfortable in English, whether by upbringing or professional habit. Our staff communicate clearly and warmly in both English and Cantonese.

For families exploring residential care options in Hong Kong, we are always willing to speak candidly about what Banyan Lodge can and cannot offer. We would rather help a family find the right fit — even if that means acknowledging our own limitations — than begin a placement that is not well suited to the person involved.
